Frequently asked questions...

Here are a few FAQ's.

If you have any questions not covered below then please give us a call and we will be happy to answer them.

1 - Do I need to have the Kennel Cough vaccine for my dog?

It is not a requirement to have your dog vaccinated against Canine infectious tracheobronchitis (Commonly known as Kennel Cough) when staying with us. However, we do strongly recommend that you do. Please be aware that this should be done well before you dog stays with us. Ideally we recommend that the vaccine (a nasal spray) is administered 4 weeks prior to the stay. Due to the long incubation period for this condition without any symptoms being evident then any less than a few weeks can mean that your dog (if they are infected) may still be contagious for a period after the vaccine is given . We are aware that many vets will quote much shorter periods before staying in kennels. We do reserve the right to refuse to admit your dog if we believe that the risk is too high or the period from administering the vaccine is too short. If you have any questions or doubts then please give us a call.

2 - What vaccinations does my pet need?

DOG - Must have the following : DHP (Distemper, Hepatitus, Parvovirus), Either L2 or L4 (Leptospirosis). We also accept Titre tested dogs (still require L2 or L4)

CAT - Must have the following : Feline Enteritis, Feline Influenza, Feline Leukaemia, Feline Chlamydophilosis

We do reserve the right to refuse to admit your pet if the vaccinations are NOT up to date. This protects your pet from risk of infection they are not covered. Please ensure you have vaccinations and boosters administered by your vet in plenty of time before they stay with us. If you have any questions or doubts then please give us a call.

3 - What food do you supply?

We supply suitable foods for your pet that has been carefully chosen to be fully compatible with their regular diet to avoid upset tummies. We do ask that you bring your own food for pets that are on prescription, raw or puppy / kitten diets. Please ensure that you bring enough food to last the duration of the stay along with any special feeding requirements.

However, if your pet has special dietary needs then it is normal for you to supply enough for the duration of the stay. We do not post on social media. There are several reasons for this. Primarily it is for security reasons for our customers.
